Born in Marseilles in 1969, Joëlle GENISSON comes from a classical music background (Marseille conservatory); Her music took on a different direction after meeting Michel Petrucciani who revealed to her another approach of the instrument and with whom she would eventually take several Master Classes. Her sense of harmony and her perfect ear have led to her participating in different musical events in France and abroad (opening sessions of Robben Ford’s concert)
In the mid-90s, she discovers Latin music. This new musical passion leads to the creation of her own musical project and she dedicates her career to Latin music throughout the 2000s. During this period, she creates the « Latin Project » in 2006 which becomes a center of expression for Latin American musicians and singers but also for Italians, Spanish and Africans.
This project helps her career to take off towards the prestigious international 5 Continents Jazz Festival in July 2007 where she performs her own « Joëlle Génisson Latin Project » during the opening part of the Amercian musician Willy Deville’s concert.
Over the past few years, she has pursued musical therapy in which she has always been a strong believer and in 2016, she created music for an application promoting relaxation and aimed at treating fear of flying. Finally in January 2020, she joins the prestigious « La Buissonne » studio and launches the recording of her future album. In 2021, she co-signed with her work partner the singer Dess a song for the main scene of the film « Les Gagnants » next film by Joey Starr, Az and Alban Ivanov (release date April 2022) and continue her recordings at La Buissonne. On March 22, 2023, she releases her new album out on all streaming platforms. Since its release, it hit top 100 best french music albums on Apple Music France. Almost two months later, it is still best new album and best seller on Amazon in Jazz Category.

Née à Marseille en 1969, Joëlle GENISSON a suivi une formation musicale classique (Conservatoire de Marseille) Elle change d’univers musical lors de sa rencontre avec Michel Petrucciani qui fut révélateur d’une autre approche de l’instrument et avec lequel elle suivra plusieurs Master Class. Son sens de l’harmonie et son oreille absolue lui ont permis de participer à beaucoup d’événements musicaux en France et à l’étranger (première partie de Robben Ford) Au milieu des années 90, elle découvre la musique latine. C’est ce grand coup de foudre qui va l’amener à monter son propre projet musical et à consacrer sa carrière à la musique latine dans les années 2000. A cette occasion, elle a créé le « Latin Project » en 2006. Ce projet fera s’envoler sa carrière vers la prestigieuse scène internationale du Festival Jazz des 5 Continents en juillet 2007 où elle présente son « Joëlle Génisson Latin Project » en première partie du chanteur américain Willy Deville. Depuis ces dernières années, elle revient vers la musicothérapie dont elle a toujours été la plus grande adepte et en 2016, elle signe la musique d’une application destinée à la relaxation contre les phobies en avion.
En Janvier 2020, elle rentre au prestigieux studio « La Buissonne » et lance l’enregistrement de son futur album. En 2021, elle cosigne avec sa partenaire de travail la chanteuse Dess une chanson pour la scène principale du film « Les Gagnants » prochain film de Joey Starr, Az et Alban Ivanov (date de sortie Avril 2022) et reprends ses enregistrements à la Buissonne. Son nouvel album « Nomad Instinct » est disponible le 22 Mars 2023 sur toutes les plateformes digitales. Il rentre directement dans le top 100 des meilleurs albums de France sur Apple Music France et il reste meilleure nouveauté et meilleure vente sur Amazon catégorie Jazz près de 2 mois après sa sortie.
